Today's prompt is ART. Thich Nhat Hanh writes, "There are there are two ways to wash the dishes. The first is to wash the dishes in order to have clean dishes, and the second is to wash the dishes to wash the dishes." For every task, no matter how small, turning our attention to perform it with care and consideration can be a meditative practice and a form of art to be appreciated in its own right.
This is something I am always impressed by in Taiwanese culture. Whatever is done, no matter if you're a janitor, a bank teller, or a care giver, there's an innate expectation of doing things well, as best as you can, with every opportunity. It's a spirit I hope to nurture in myself.
I'm taking part in Dani DiPirro (IG @positivelypresent)'s 30-day gratitude challenge for the month of November. Every day, I'll be illustrating a different comic based on her daily prompts.
